Pelicans on the pond

We spent a lovely sunny afternoon at Ano Nuevo state park watching the elephant seals, but on the way to marvel at these gigantic beasts, we passed a pond with some Brown Pelicans, flying from fresh water to the nearby ocean.  It was too good an opportunity to photograph these majestic flyers to pass up.

It’s hard to see the pelicans flying up from the pond.  How many do you see.

  1. Thank you for sharing your beautiful exotic photos with us homebodies. This aft. a poor old pigeon coming in for a landing beneath our feeder was exploded in mid-air by a hawk, as Charlie Cat & I stared out the window in shock & awe. The hawk 9not yet identified by me) has been feasting & resting for hrs. Still here at sunset – not a dull winter day here on the home front at all.
