Mirror reflections

Still morning air makes for great reflections, and the granite domes and slopes of Desolation Valley were perfectly mirrored on such a quiet morning. (Click on any photo for a larger view.)

There weren’t many birds at high elevations, but there were plenty of chipmunks, golden-mantled ground squirrels, and yellow-bellied marmots (woodchuck relatives) scampering about the rocks.

Bigger than a chipmunk, but smaller than a tree squirrel, these little guys can raid an open pack and put holes in every package in just minutes.
