Warm temperatures, gentle breezes, bright colors, blue water — how could you ask for more?
Fishing on the St. Croix river near Bayport MN
This paddleboat was just one of many watercraft cruising the river on this sunny fall day.
It has been such a dry summer and early fall that many trees have dropped their leaves before peak color has developed in the woods along the river.
In other places, the color is just brilliant with yellow birches, red oaks and maples, and yet still some green leaves persisting.
Fall color in the Twin Cities area pales in comparison to the vibrant hues seen along the north shore of Lake Superior. Photographer Paul Sundberg always manages to capture some amazing fall scenes. Check out the link in the photo below for more photos like this one.
Fall foliage, blue skies, and inviting waters–you’ve helped create a vision of paradise, Sue.
Thanks, Mike. If only we could enjoy this kind of weather for a couple of months…
It’s my favorite time of the year with cool nights and just a touch of warmth to the days (and low humidity, unlike the summers here).
It looks like you have beautiful fall foliage there. I think it’s as good as ours is.
What a beautiful set of Autumn scenes. Our leaves have only really started to turn this week.
