Contemplation-3

Continuing a series of portraits of visitors to the backyard…

Who says White-tailed deer aren't active in the middle of the day. This makes the third day in a row for this gal posing in back of the wildflower garden.

Standing transfixed by all the greenery around her, this doe stood in the middle of this wild raspberry patch without moving for about 5 minutes. Penny for your thoughts?

  1. Once again, your blog lives up to its name. After months of not seeing a deer, I finally saw one last week, though it was at a distance and in the woods, so my photos were mostly obstructed. I especially like your last shot, with the head surrounded by greenery.

  2. Hello,
Would it be possible for me to use one of your images in a public outreach booklet?
I work at the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust in Bath, Maine, and I am currently collaborating on a project with the conservation commissions in four local towns to create outreach booklets for the public. These 32 page stewardship guide booklets will highlight things that people can do to protect land and water resources in their community. The booklets will be printed and shared with the public in the local towns and shared on the websites of the local conservation commissions.
The top picture above of a deer standing on a lawn would be perfect as the image for one of the pages. If we were to use the photo, we would be sure to give you credit for the photo in the way that you see fit.
Thank you for your consideration! Please feel free to contact me with any questions at rindrick@kennebecestuary.org.
