Snow day

Not enough snow to cancel school for the kids, but enough to get serious about snow removal.  My neighbor is adding to the accumulation around our newly planted apple trees.  I hope they like it.

    • Many of these bird species cache seed in places they can go back to on days like this. The trick is remembering where you put the food (Jays are especially good at hiding food and then finding it again).

  1. We are not so hardy here in Northern Virginia and don’t have the right equipment to handle snow removal. We are having our first real snow of the winter with an expected total of 6-12 inches in some areas. However, because it will fall most of the day, schools are called off and federal government offices are closed. That is a smart decision because the Washington D.C. area has some of the worst traffic in the nation and commuting would be a nightmare.
